4 DIY Adventures to Pursue in San Francisco

If you love to get your hands dirty then let these July workshops and DIY projects be your fun for the rest of the month. We’ll see you there.

Classes in Clay by Ruby’s Clay Studio

In this class the focus is entirely on hand building techniques from the ground up.  We will spend time designing a tea pot and cups set on paper and turning it into a finished form by the end of class.  Every aspect from design decisions (based on the end product use) to glaze finish and usability will be worked through using all aspects of hand building, pinch, coil and slab construction.  We will work on “bringing a form to market”.  If you’re considering what it takes to design and then build to a desired finish, we’ll be covering this in the 8 week course dedicated to the tea pot!*

*All materials are included.

// Registration for the next class session will be Monday, August 1st at 7pm. — $340

Succulent Still Life: Build Your Own Felt Container Garden

Terrible at keeping plants alive?  This class is perfect for the nature lover with the brown thumb! In Succulent Still Life: Build Your Own Felt Container Garden, Fiber Florist Vivian Troung will teach you how to design and build your very own felt succulent container garden! Talk about sustainable, this far from garden variety craft project won’t require watering, sunlight, or eventual re-potting down the road!  Using fresh cut succulents as design inspiration, Vivian will show how to hand cut, paint and assemble your felt succulent garden using eco-friendly felt made from wool, acrylic and bamboo. You will learn how to make “hen and chicks” succulents, zebra succulents and “Mother of millions” succulents.  You will leave with a unique, potted felt succulent garden that will certainly ‘out live’ even the healthiest perennial in your apartment!
