For those who love clothes that fit both the utilitarian side and functional side of life while all the more looking effortless, let us introduce to you 45R.
45R opened its first store outside of Japan in 2000 at 169 Mercer Street in New York City’s Soho district. 45rpm has been making comfortable everyday clothes with master artisans using natural materials and dyes since its founding in 1977.
The clothes are made from the highest quality materials that are gentle on the body and are perfectly suited for any lifestyle. 45R's New York store has been offering eclectic and unique fashion to the United States. They have incorporated natural motifs into the clothing designs to nurture the mutual relationship between humans and nature. 45R makes clothes that blend a unique aesthetic style and traditional cloth making techniques, which they hope will be passed on from generation to generation. And thus begins the history of 45R again. Mixing gorgeous denims, hard to find cottons (think organic Supima cotton from El Paso), and an aesthetic that screams slow living — we could live in one of their denim ai-indigo dyed jeans. The San Francisco store is the third US location for the Asian retailer; NYC and Honolulu are the others.
