We're Currently Styling In Our Allbirds Sneaker: Our Thoughts?
Allbirds, an SF-based start up shoe brand, may become your new favorite sneaker.
Tim Brown and Joey Zwillinger launched Allbirds on March of 2016. The two sought out to design comfortable, environmentally friendly sneakers that people could actually afford.
The simplicity of this shoe gives it a minimalistic look while still making you look (and feel) like a million bucks.
“We think less is more, which is why we don’t include unnecessary logos or detailing. Instead, we designed the simplest, most comfortable shoe we could, using premium natural materials, without the premium price,” says the Allbirds site.
Allbirds sneakers are made from ZQ-certified merino wool, meaning they meet the strict standards of animal welfare and sustainable farming. No sheep were harmed in the making of the shoes! Who doesn’t love cruelty free brands?
The wool also requires 60% less energy to produce than the synthetic materials that are generally used in shoes. That’s a huge number if you think about how much energy and waste goes into the making of some major popular brands. Not specifying any names, but you know who they are!
Castor beans are used in the soles of the shoes as a remarkably ecological source for green polyurethane.
Slipping on a pair of Allbirds minimizes odor, regulates temperature and wicks moisture. These lightweight shoes conform to your movement, so when the MUNI is crowded you could easily walk those few blocks to work. As for when they get dirty, fear not! These shoes are completely machine washable, and snug enough to wear sockless.
// If you don’t absolutely love them within the 30 days of purchase, Allbirds allows you bring the shoes back, no questions asked! All of the used shoes are either recycled or donated to their partnered organization Soles4Souls. Get yours here for just $95!
