When two great minds think alike, a pretty chic collaboration is born.
With similar design aesthetics, the Dogpatch-based Bryr Clogs have released a special edition shoe honing the rope artistry of Bay Area artist, Windy Chien. Meeting, at first, at Westcoast Craft Fair, the two immediately connected over their love of materials, minimal organic style, and love of 70's California design. Windy's Year of knots project was an inspiration to Bryr designer Isobel and her small team — a collaboration seemed like a no-brainer.
The Knotted Jayne (their first collab) is the classic Bryr silohuette attached to one of Windy's perfectly shaped knots. A simple and easy shoe, great for walking around the city and other urban adventures. And no two knots are ever the same.
Each knot that is attached to your made-to-order pair are hand knotted by the artist herself, offering this special type of customization you can't get anywhere else. But we've got to re-iterate though, ALL of Bryr clogs are made-to-order and take approximately 30 days from your order date. So get yours now so that summer is welcome with a fresh pair of kicks.
Bryr has always been very inspired by California design, and the Jayne, which is inspired by 70's slides, seemed like a perfect platform for Windy's knot work. After reviewing a ton of different options, the two eventually landed on a knot that fit the vibe well, and was also comfortable to wear.
