The Bay’s Getaways
Bob Cut’s fav coffee spots to dine, unwind, and basically just chill.
Founded in the heart of Hayes Valley, 20th Century Cafe fills our minimalist heart with utter joy and wonder. “Conceived out of years of hard work in front of the oven, thoughts about food, old movies, and drunken discussions about the future,” the cafe opened its doors to customers looking to escape the trivialities of the day to day. Stop by and grab a slice of Russian Honey Cake because it’s dessert you can’t pass up easily.
Flywheel Roasters on Stanyan is something out of a steampunk lads dream. The cafe shows off its individuality with beautiful interior design and coffee that’ll have you hyped for weeks. As an independent, family owned and operated coffee roaster, Flywheel is dedicated to bringing you a cup of excellence. Why not try their classic Siphon and Coffee.
Inspired by their love of San Francisco, Saint Frank coffee on Polk lives to enhance their “craft with simple and restrained elegance that amplifies their values in coffee, people, and connection.” The chic coffee spot hopes to greater impact the community with education on coffee as a whole. While you’re popping by on your excursion, snatch up a classic iced coffee for the road.
We want to thank illustrator Alec Lu for sketching all our favorite spots and for all the wonderful insta-snaps.
“Taiwanese / Japanese mix illustrator, Alec Lu is currently a student at the Academy of Art University, San Francisco, California, USA. Lu will be graduating in December 2015 and will start his career as a professional illustrator that mainly focuses on editorial and graphic design.”
What is your favorite coffee shop on the block? Did we miss any?
