Off The Menu: Comstock Saloon Gets In With The Brunch Crowd

"When I joined the Comstock team earlier this year, I saw a great opportunity to bring a new kind of brunch to a neighborhood where there aren’t currently many options. We’ve had so much success with our daytime weekend events like Emperor Norton’s birthday and Derby Day, I knew the demand for brunch was there,” said Chef Raffin.
For those who know nothing about the Comstock Saloon, you are about to be educated: Comstock Saloon opened on May 20, 2010 at 155 Columbus Street in a space dating back to 1907, when it first opened as the Andromeda Saloon. The saloon, on the bustling corner of Pacific and Columbus Avenues, is the last standing bar of the Barbary Coast—once a playground for early gold-seekers. Comstock Saloon offers patrons a modern, engaging menu inspired by turn-of-the-century saloon fare and a full suite of classic cocktails for nightly dinner and Friday lunch.
Plus if you're wondering what is EXACTLY on the menu before you devour, get a mouthful of this: Breakfast Poutine with house made sausage, scrambled eggs, cheddar, and Szechuan gravy; Five-Spice Churros with blackberry preserve and nitro-anglaise; and Caviar “Chexx” with Tsar Nicoulai Caviar and crème fraiche. Main dishes include a Ham and Fontina Croque Madame with Szechuan pepper gravy and confit egg yolk; Tres Leches French Toast with compressed strawberry and white chocolate Chantilly cream; and Char Siu Pork Belly Eggs Benedict with lemon hollandaise, nori chili flake, and tossed greens.
