The SF Marathon may be geared toward the bipedal amongst—but it were the quadrupeds that stole the show.
San Francisco's ubiquitous 26.2-mile race is a mecca for all things endurance running. Ultrarunners, ironmen (and women), and even the odd regular 5K particpant flock to the Marina District in droves come every Summer to prance along the sweeping hills of the Bay Area. Medals are handed out; water bottles are emptied with a certain vivaciousness.

But, among the day’s festivities, the real winners may not have been the Olympic-qualifying finalists—but the dogs that welcomed them when the crossed the finish line.
