Shop Talk: Local Rhea's Cafe and NY-based Glossier Partner Up For a One Month Pop-Up

Being a huge supporter of Bob Cut, the Glossier team have built roots in San Francisco with their exclusive pop-up collaboration in the Mission.

Who would of thought it, thunk it, or even dreamt it—but ladies, yes, it's here. Glossier and Rhea's Cafe in the Mission have teamed together to bring the world of beauty and food into one realm. In 1991, James Choi’s (The now owner of Rhea's) father bought Rhea’s—a tiny market and liquor store named after the original owner—at 19th St. and Valencia. 25 years later, three things happened: James’ father retired, James had his first son, and, without any formal culinary training, James decided to take over the corner store and start a sandwich shop inside it. The cafe has seen new hype with it's homage to pop-culture and its ways of keeping up with current and relevant trends. The shop creates a blend of American and Korean food that reflected the time that James spent growing up in both countries.

So how does Glossier come into the mix, you may ask? The Glossier team let us in on the unexpected collaboration, "After weeks of working together, Glossier and Rhea's are launching a visual redesign by introducing a new color palette and new furniture and highlighting existing design elements, such as the counter and barstools, that seamlessly celebrate both beauty and food; a curated limited menu of Rhea’s Cafe’s “greatest hits”, including their famous Buttermilk Fried Chicken Sandwich; custom branded, limited edition to-go packaging for food, drinks, and Glossier products." Lidstar, Glossier's newest launch, will be available at the pop-up on Valencia.

A match made in heaven per say, only time will tell—but for all the ladies who need those opening deets like NOW! Glossier at Rhea's opens on March 14th at 11am and will be open through the month of March into April. So what are you waiting for? Get your best gal pal and prepare to saunter into the Glossier experience.
