Fashion is alive and well in the Bay Area. The latest collections from a small selection of local designers and brands reflect some of the major spring and summer trends for 2018.

The Trend: Multi-use. You wouldn't guess it but this bag collab' has more smaller bags in one. Get this: the larger day backpack, a small fanny pack with hip belt, and even a travelers wallet with the belt and shoulder attachment. Great for those experienced world travelers. Bon voyage. —Written by Anthony Rogers, EIC.
The Brand: LACSON RAVELLO is a local brand that likes to update classic silhouettes with bold colors and textiles. The result is comfortable, timeless clothes with a little something extra.

The Trend: These fab pants tackle two trends for spring and summer. First, you have the high-waisted, wide-leg pant trend. Second, you have vertical stripes on textiles. Want to go for a third trend? For the head-to-toe, matchy-matchy print look, there is also a matching top available.
The Item: Maya Tee, $155. T-shirts, when done right, have been elevated to an art form. This bamboo blend top is cut to fit in between fitted and relaxed, and features just the right amount of detail to elevate it from the everyday tee.
The Trend: Mesh and other transparent textiles are all the rage. This t-shirt offers an easy, effortless way to partake in the trend.
Gravel & Gold
The Brand: Gravel & Gold is a woman-owned collective, that features the work of other artists, in addition to their own creations. Their collections are based around handmade print designs by a variety of designers.
The Item: Nowe Jumpsuit, Forest Ecru, $350
The Trend: Prints are in, and a subset of this trend are art-inspired prints, and a mix of different prints. This eclectic jumpsuit tackles all these trends, and also features a cropped, wide leg, making it a sartorial example of what’s in this season.
The Item: Valaurius Dress, Carnelian, $225
The Trend: You don’t have to save the special occasion fabrics for special occasions anymore. Wear velvet during the day (Satin, embellishment, and other ritzy touches are also on-trend for the season.)! This especially looks modern when its made into casual styles, such as this relaxed dress.
The Brand: Westward Leaning creates socially conscious, stylish, unisex sunglasses, in unique materials which have included gold, redwood, and sea glass. Added bonus? You can customize a pair of sunnies, just for you.
The Item: Voyager, 36 Matte Frost Acetate, $185
The Trend: We mentioned the transparency trend earlier, but it’s also extended to accessories. Completely clear bags, jewelry, and other finishing touches are in. The best part is clear accessories, like these sunglasses, go well with everything.
The Item: Floston Paradise, 04 Polished Black Acetate, $205.
The Trend: We will forever be looking to the future, and what we imagine will be in it. Sci-fi sunglasses proved to be a common theme on the spring/summer runways; these bold frames by Westward Leaning were actually influenced by the film The Fifth Element, which is set in the year 2300.
