Stationed on Divisadero Street, the popular shaved ice shop is finally opening on Friday to the masses who’ve waited long enough.
Yesterday, they announced on Facebook that they’ll start serving shaved snow — in flavors like horchata, black sesame, Vietnamese coffee, and matcha green tea — at their first brick-and-mortar space on Friday at noon. Which is very exciting after seeing the masses approach the empty store to only meet discouragement. After reported too early by San Francisco Magazine’s “Best of SF”, the listed address sent their readers to the unfinished store on Divis causing eaters alike to say some very harsh things about the popular ice / ice cream hybrid.
Eater learned that owners David Chung and Mimi Hanley had found their location at Haight and Divis, and yesterday Inside Scoop had details on the opening, as well as Powder’s shaved snow-making process. It’s crazy if you haven’t seen it. What flavors do you think you’d try, for us we’ve got our sights on the matcha green. #yum.
// 260 Divisadero (at Haight), Open Tuesday - Sunday, 12 p.m. to 10 p.m., starting Friday, September 23.
