Welcome to the PaniQ Room — Could You Survive?

Picture this — you wake up in an unfamiliar room with unfamiliar faces and your only saving grace is to find a single pair of keys before whoever, or whatever, comes back to find you. Do you think you could survive? PaniQ Room SF tests your survival skills with their intensive closed course(s).

Welcome to the three versions of fear — starting at all different levels of difficulty (Pyscho, The Prison, and Geek), PaniQ Room SF tests your cunning ability to escape a highly locked room within a certain amount of time while instilling the fear and the edge in your mind.

The original escape rooms were launched in Budapest in early 2011. With more than a hundred locations now, live escape games have become the number one tourist action of the Hungarian capital. As it swept it’s way across the country, the United States needed their taste.

The first PanIQ Room opened its doors in March 2012 in Hungary, and it belongs to some of the first escape rooms in the world. Entering the US market in 2014, PanIQ Room Hollywood opened with two themes, and after the great success of the first unit, PanIQ Room started to expand quickly opening new units in San Francisco, San Diego, Miami, Phoenix and Chicago. In February, the PaniQ Room team has opened MagIQ Room in Beverly Hills, California. PanIQ Room will open a new location in Boston this summer (2016).

The point of an escape room game is for a team to escape from locked rooms within a specified time period. The games are inspired and developed based on the flow experience, which is the synonym of “being in the zone” in positive psychology.

The game takes away players’ real life worries and places them in a different world. As one of the most influential modern psychologists, Hungarian-born Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi puts it, “flow is the mental state of operation in which a person performing an activity is fully immersed in a feeling of energized focus, full involvement, and enjoyment in the process of the activity.”

The ultimate goal, in a nutshell, is to provide a game that helps you experience this fulfilling mental state.

// You need to book a room and give it a whirl, it’s a completely life-changing experience. Book it out with your friends and really test their friendship.
